About Us | Our Mini Story
A little About Us…
After having our second child we had some experience in looking for quality child care programs. We found the following current options available:
- A licensed daycare facility with concrete “outdoor spaces” and a price tag equivalent to a mortgage payment. These were often full with large wait lists.
- A privately run dayhome with a slightly more reasonable price tag but no regulations or standardized learning focus.
With our education and experience, we knew we wanted something better for our children. Research shows children need to develop physical literacy skills by age 7 to greatly increase their chances of being physically active for life. Research also points out that a majority of children are falling short of the daily recommendations for daily physical activity.
As a team, we were able to provide our oldest with multiple opportunities to start developing physical literacy skills while still taking care of our newborn. As Dallas’ leave started to come to an end we realized we were going to need to make a decision about what to do with our girls for child care. We stared to look for physical literacy based child care centers, to see if there were perhaps some better options for our girls. Unfortunately, these types of daycare programs don’t prominently exist. In fact, many care centers have limitations as including space and education of staff to name a few.
We decided to become the solution we were searching for! We designed and developed our walkout basement to have an active indoor and outdoor area. We also have a craft area, a reading area, and a mini climbing wall. Along with the amazing space, we will also have two learning facilitators working with your little ones to help them on their learning journey.
